Overview

Open Sound Connect controls Sony’s 1000X headphones over Bluetooth. Switch from noise canceling to ambient sound without reaching for your phone, shape the equalizer, and save the settings for each part of your day as scenes that apply themselves.

The Open Sound Connect window on its Sound page: equalizer presets, five bands and Clear Bass with the curve drawn, saved curves, NC Optimizer and sound quality settings.
The window has room for everything: the full equalizer, your curves, and every setting your headphones report.

What it does.

  • Noise control

Noise canceling, wind reduction, ambient sound or off, with the ambient level and Focus on Voice where your model has them.

  • Equalizer

Presets, every band and Clear Bass, with the curve drawn as you go and your own curves saved on your Mac.

  • Sound quality

DSEE upscaling, the codec in use, and the choice between sound quality and a steadier connection.

  • Speak-to-Chat

Turn conversation detection on or off and set its sensitivity and how long it waits before resuming.

  • Scenes

Bundle settings into named presets and apply them by hand, on connection, on a schedule or when an app comes forward.

  • Menu bar

Battery, codec, noise modes, equalizer, DSEE, Speak-to-Chat and your scenes, one click away.
