About Fancy Mechanisms
Small on purpose.
Fancy Mechanisms is an independent software studio. We build native apps for Apple platforms, mostly for the Mac, and we keep them small: each one does a single job, does it completely, and then gets out of your way.

Why small.
Most of our apps started as an annoyance at our own desk: headphones that needed a phone to change a setting, a 3D printer in another room, displays that shuffled every time the Mac woke. Each fix became an app that lives in the menu bar, one click away, and asks for nothing more than that.
Why mechanisms.
A good Mac app works like a fine watch movement: dozens of small parts, like the right system control or a shortcut right where your fingers expect it, meshing so smoothly you forget they’re there. We build ours part by part and keep only the parts that earn their place. Then we finish each one as if someone will open the case back.
Why private.
Your devices are yours. Our apps talk to your headphones, printers and displays directly, keep their settings on your Mac, and carry no analytics. If an app goes online, it’s to check for an update or a license, and we say so.
What we promise.
- Every released app is native, written for the Mac in Swift and SwiftUI.
- No account needed to use our apps, and no analytics in them.
- Clear prices, shown before you buy.
- Every released app is open source, under the MIT license.
- Real answers from the people who built the app.
